Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry sign with Obamas’ speaking agency
It looks like we’ll be seeing Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan giving quite a lot of speeches in the future! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have signed with the agency that represents Barack and Michelle Obama and Hillary and Bill Clinton on their speaking engagements.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Harry Walker Agency will represent the Sussexes at events that will include “moderated discussions and keynote speeches with trade associations, corporations and community forums.” The news was also confirmed by HELLO! UK.
The Los Angeles Times reports Harry and Meghan are set to focus on key causes that are very important to them, such as racial justice and equality, the rights of women and girls, mental health and the environment and conservation.
It makes sense for the Sussexes to sign with Harry Walker. The couple are friends with the Obamas and Clintons, and the firm also represents Oprah Winfrey, who is also in their social circle.© Provided by Hello!

It’s not known whether we’ll see Harry and Meghan at any of these events this year, but we do know that in February they flew to Miami for a speaking engagement at a private event hosted by JP Morgan. Harry spoke about mental health and how losing his mother, Princess Diana, affected his life. The event was reportedly attended by Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez.
Harry and Meghan have also been working on launching their non-profit, Archewell, though a report emerged earlier this month that they were postponing doing so for the time being. The Telegraph stated the couple do not plan to make any “public announcements” about the organization “for the foreseeable future” and will not engage in any “official Archewell projects until next year.”
They are said to be concentrating their efforts on Black Lives Matter and supporting the work of their patronages and other key causes through the coronavirus pandemic.
Harry and Meghan revealed the info about their non-profit’s name in April, saying the name comes from “‘Arche’ – the Greek word meaning ‘source of action.'”
“We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name,” they said in an announcement in April.
Earlier this month, a story also emerged saying the couple had been meeting with community representatives and organizers in light of the Black Lives Matter protests and other racial justice demonstrations that have been taking place after the death of George Floyd. Meghan also addressed the deaths of George, Breonna Taylor and many other Black Americans “whose names we don’t know” during a video speech to the graduating class at her former high school, Immaculate Heart, in Los Angeles.
“You are going to have empathy for those who don’t see the world through the same lens that you do, because as diverse and vibrant and open-minded as I know that the teachings of the Immaculate Heart are, I know that you know that Black Lives Matter,” she said in the clip.© Provided by Hello!
